Our university's application to the "United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)", where the Sustainability Office is conducting membership-related activities, was submitted on October 21, 2024, and was accepted into the network on February 21, 2025.
Under the patronage of the United Nations Secretary-General, the network aims to mobilize universities, research institutes, organizations, and national laboratories worldwide to develop global and local solutions to the world’s most critical sustainable development challenges. By joining this network, we have gained privileged access through its exclusive online platform, which offers many opportunities for our university, especially for our academic staff, to meet and connect with other experts and organizations in the field of sustainable development goals, explore every opportunity, develop joint projects, and organize events. The SDSN network, spanning six continents, consists of over 1,900 member institutions, coordinated by 57 National and Regional Networks, with universities being the primary members.
This acceptance is of great importance for global collaborations that will enable us to more effectively achieve our priority sustainable development goals. SDSN Turkey was established in 2014, hosted by Boğaziçi University, and contributes to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by mobilizing its members in Turkey. Among its main activities are offering trainings, public speeches, and regular media contributions to raise awareness about SDGs in Turkey.
