The Information and Technology Center consists of four floors and has 4500 m2 of indoor area. The ground floor has a library with 35 computers, 20 computers and 30 laptops. On the first floor, there are classrooms and lecturer offices. The lower level is equipped with computer labs consisting of 30 computers each. Modern Planetarium is located on the last floor and consists of a presentation room, and observatory, three conference rooms (capacity of 52+52+44). In addition, the Information and Technology Center is equipped with ten reading saloons and three group study areas for students.
PLANETERIUM
Çağ University owns a ‘’Meade’’ brand L X 2000 model 10’’ (25 cm) ‘Cassegrain’ type mirror telescope. With this telescope the moon, planets, comets, and satellites can be observed. Moreover, (with ard-uc hardware and research level) gamma ray burst, nova and supernova type short-time astronomy cases can be carried out.
LIBRARY
Çağ University Library was founded in 1997 with an aim to provide all available information and documents organized with a system to make available for the university’s lecturers, students, administrative staff, graduates and others doing research to evaluate education and spare time.
Çağ University Library has aimed to meet the needs of all users in pursuance of the university’s mission and vision. It plays an active role in terms of making the education active and participative and students gaining the habit of doing independent research.
Our university aims to provide the most suitable medium to support education and research programs, meet the information and documental needs of lecturers and students in each type and context, to collect the best data resources and to take advantage of them. Located on a 10.000 m2 area and with an area of 6.000 m2, the Information and Technology Center with a library on the ground floor, entresol, and a terrace located on 2500 m2, which can hold up to 300 people in its sitting area.
On the ground floor, there are individual study rooms, lending/reserve counters, consultation (reference) resources, current periodicals (newspaper, magazine, bulletin etc.), visual- auditory materials (multimedia) and ten computers with adequate equipment to use these materials. In addition, on this floor, there are ten scanning terminals where students can use library resources, subscribed e-database and internet resources for their research. Moreover, in our library, laptops are lent to users that would like to do research.
On the entresol, original books can be found on shelves, which are organized alphabetically, in such a way that it adheres to the American Library of Congress Classification System. Also, the Library Service Office (Technical Services, ILL-inter-library loan etc.), the Private Study Office and library director can be found on this floor. On the next floor there is a periodicals unit (university magazines, periodicals archives of old years, thesis, yearbooks, reports, statistics etc.) and on the terrace there are free study rooms.
